Brunswick County 4-H would like to invite youth who are rising 7th to 12th graders to become Youth Volunteers. Serving in this position equips youth with knowledge about basic kitchen safety, food safety, nutrition, and cooking skills from Teen Cuisine, Camp-Cook-Play, and Kids in the Kitchen curriculums. Upon completion of their training, youth are ready to assist 4-H EFNEP Educator, Angie Lawrence, during summer day camps teaching these principles to campers. This summer, youth will have the opportunity to assist with programming through Parks and Recreation at Town Creek Elementary, with For Kids Only in Shallotte, and with Parks and Recreation in Southport.

Training for this opportunity will take place in person in the training room and kitchen of the North Carolina Cooperative Extension, Brunswick County Center located in the Brunswick County Government Complex on June 8 and 9 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Families who are already enrolled in 4-H can register by visiting go.ncsu.edu/4h-online. Not yet a 4-H member but interested in enrolling? Contact Angie Lawrence, EFNEP Nutrition Educator and 4-H Program Associate, angie_lawrence@ncsu.edu, 910-253-2610, for more information.
