The Empowering Youth and Families Program (EYFP) is an 11 week parenting education program for families with youth ages 10-14. This parenting education program focuses on building healthy communication skills for caregivers and their youth to build a stronger family. It has been developed by North Carolina State University 4-H in response to the opioid crisis in rural NC communities. During this program, families will also learn how to connect with community resources and educate others.
EYFP will begin on Thursday, March 14th at 6 p.m., at the Nir Family YMCA. Meals will be provided at each session and we are working on other incentives (hopefully gas cards). At the end of the 11 weeks, families will be treated to a weekend retreat at the Eastern 4-H Center in Columbia, NC.
To register for this program please e-mail kbridge3@ncsu.edu or call 910-253-2597.
