EFNEP Logo

The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) wants to assist you in helping youth Eat Smart and Move More. Our program is designed to meet the K-12 grade NC Standards for Healthy Living and support the standards for English, Math, and Science. EFNEP engages youth in their own learning through hands-on activities and skills that help youth make healthy decisions. Our Program has over 50 years of proven success!

2024 Back-to-School with EFNEP: Healthy Habits for Students

Developed by food, nutrition, and physical activity professionals, our curricula are grade-level specific and utilizes education pedagogy encouraging youth to set goals for improvement following each session.

EFNEP provides everything a teacher needs to support your students in making healthier choices – a trained nutrition educator, evidence-based grade-level curricula, and student materials.My Daily Food Guide

Lesson’s are developed to positively affect 5 key health behaviors:

  • Increase the youth’s knowledge of human nutrition
  • Increase the variety of foods in the youth’s daily diet
  • Improve the youth’s ability to select low-cost nutritious meals for meals and snacks
  • Improve food preparation and food safety practices to reduce the risk of foodborne illnesses
  • Increase daily physical activity

EFNEP youth curriculum is designed to address essential and core standards for each grade.
