Lisa Benavente

As the coordinator of EFNEP at NC State University, I oversee the program's statewide implementation and ensure it aligns with EFNEP's federal policies. I lead regional supervisors, develop a long-term program plan, evaluate and report on program impacts, foster internal and external collaborations, and manage EFNEP's fiscal resources. In collaboration with colleagues across the university, the state, and the nation, I work to incorporate current nutrition research and best practices into the program's implementation in North Carolina, helping low-income families and youth develop practical skills to plan, shop, fix, and eat healthy foods to reduce chronic disease risk and improve quality of life.
