Brunswick County 4-H partners with various organizations within the county to offer hands-on learning experiences. In 4-H you "learn by doing” and meet new friends that share your interests. You can participate in projects where you make something, develop a skill, raise and/or train an animal, or even travel for an international program! There are numerous projects available to you, including foods, clothing, public speaking, models, STEM, citizenship, livestock, and more.

2026 Southeast Turkey Project
This is an opportunity for youth in 4-H and FFA to learn more about the livestock industry. Through this project, youth will receive hen poults mid August. The birds will be raised, and youth will complete a project record book to document their care and knowledge learned about Turkeys. Youth will also compete in a Market Turkey Show at Lake Waccamaw, NC, where they will demonstrate to the judge their knowledge of their birds. Training will be provided through Zoom and in-person workshops. At the end of the project, youth, along with a parent/guardian, will have the option to process their bird(s) or donate them to be processed and given to a local food bank.
