Our Nutrition & Health program empowers individuals to make positive lifestyle changes that lead to healthier and more fulfilling lives. Through engaging workshops, classes, and community outreach, we provide research-based education on making nutritious food choices, managing chronic diseases, increasing physical activity, and enhancing overall family well-being, helping you build skills for a lifetime of better health.
Med Instead of Meds was created by a group of nutrition and the health professionals from NC State University and NC Division of Public Health.
A typical hurricane kit includes flashlights, batteries, gas for a generator, water, etc. Some essential items people often forget to prepare are shelf-stable and nutritious food items. This program provides participants with more detailed information on nutritious foods to include in a hurricane preparedness food kit.
EFNEP helps participants learn skills and strategies to feed their family nutritious meals on a limited budget and improve their overall health.
Brunswick County EFNEPThe Extension Master Food Volunteer (EMFV) program provides citizens with an opportunity to extend the work of N.C. Cooperative Extension by providing unbiased, research-based information on food systems, cooking, and food safety to our community.
Our office offers classes, testing of Presto pressure canner dial gauges, and can help answer any questions you have related to home food preservation.
