N.C. Cooperative Extension in Brunswick County offers Safe Plates Food Safety Manager Certification. This comprehensive course is appropriate for food service managers and supervisory staff in restaurants, hospitals, nursing homes, childcare facilities, and other food-handling establishments. Both in-person and virtual trainings are available.
A two-day class in-person Safe Plates training will be held on Mondays January 26 and February 2 from 9 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The classes will meet at the Leland Cultural Arts Center, 1212 Magnolia Village Way in Leland, NC. The registration fee is $135 per person. This includes all instruction, materials and the certification exam. Participants are encouraged to bring their own snacks, and beverages.
Certification is provided by the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals and is based on successful completion of the course and passing a written examination. The certification test will be given on February 2 for both in-person and virtual students.
