Wake County 4-H Teen Council represents all 4-H members in Wake County by planning and implementing educational programs, community service, and social activities.

The council is open to teen 4-H members in the county and provides the opportunity for participants to experience working with new, diverse peers. Council members are encouraged to develop skills such as leadership, citizenship, communication, financial management and self-resilience.

Meetings are conducted by teen members every 1st and 3rd Monday.

Officer Bios

President

Nicholas (Niko) Wiguna, President

Name: Nicholas (Niko) Wiguna

Achievements: Public Relations Officer & Peer Mentor of Note in the Pocket Teen Board, Founder of chocolate business/fundraiser, instructor for Green Level High School’s Dance Club

Goals: I aspire to be a pediatric psychologist, and a key skill that will take me through my academic and professional career is communication and leadership! 4-H Teen Council is the perfect outlet for me to work on these skills as well as create friendships with youth in my community.

Extracurriculars: I enjoy Hip-Hop Dance & Choreography, Acoustic Guitar, and video editing! I am passionate and knowledgeable about geology.

Name: Emerson (Emmy) Wood

Achievements: FFA President, National Honor Society Member

GoalsI hope to one day become an agriculture teacher or an agricultural policy lawyer. I want to attend either NC State or Appalachian State University. 

Extracurriculars: My area of expertise is horticulture; I want to become a horticulture teacher and besides from 4H and FFA I spend a lot of time in the school greenhouse as well as working at a local Nursery Production Center!

Name: Arni Pancras

Achievements: Team Leader of Challenge and Conquest at St. Michael the Archangel, Peer Mentor for Tutoring Club, Head Lifeguard at Morrisville Aquatics and AMG, Won 1st place in 4-H Presentation Contest, State Finalist for Deca

Goals: I hope to attend NCSU as I have aspirations of being a successful architect/engineer. My professional success will be largely dependent on my ability to be a leader and staying organized. I want to pursue this while still helping my community out through groups like the Wake County 4-H Teen Council. I have found that this council, specifically my particular officer position, is the ideal venue for me to practice all my abilities.

Extracurriculars: I am passionate about swimming, dancing, and instructing. My skills include playing the violin for Trinity School of London for the past 2 years and playing in the Philharmonic Association. In my free time, I like to do different volunteering services around my community. I am very knowledgeable in the fields of marketing & business as well as engineer design & architecture.

Name: Emily Pirhalla

Achievements: Won 1st place in the 4-H Presentations in the area of Public Speaking, Speaker for the TEDXYouth @Chavis Way

Extracurriculars: In my freetime, I enjoy crocheting, playing games such as stardew valley or disney dream light valley with my friends and family. I also enjoys public speaking and have had many opportunities to express my points of views. I am also interested in digital media and am applying to join an academy that will allow me to learn more about digital media and marketing as a whole.

Achievements: Lead Counselor at JVSS summer camps, Treasurer and Secretary at Enloe Self Improvement, Mentor of 2 FLL teams

Goals: I want to head into the finance and business field and hope to attend Wharton Business school. While pursuing this, I hope to give back to my community by serving through organizations like the 4-H Teen Council.

ExtracurricularsSome of my hobbies include playing competitive soccer and mentoring. I am pretty skilled in managing teams and taking initiative. To add on to that, I enjoy investing in the stock market and managing money as well. 

Educator

Name: Sahas Vijayabaskar

Relevant achievements: 4-H presentations, Stem RC competitions, TEDx talk, Neighborhood classes

Goals: I have participated in STEM many competitions and presentations. During these events, I have gained many connections with all sorts of people with different professions and backgrounds. I am also a boy scout and have leadership experience through that. Being part of the 4-H Teen council has honed my leadership and mentoring skills.

ExtracurricularsI am interested in biology and STEM in general. I have a fascination for the natural world and the animal kingdom as well. Because of this I keep many insects, and take wildlife photos, which I use to post for the Wake Audubon Instagram for their wildlife Wednesday posts. I also enjoy going out with my friends and playing sports.
