TiLT Youth Volunteer Recruitment

Brunswick County 4-H is recruiting for NEW 4-H Teens in Leadership Training Youth Volunteers.

The 4-H Teens in Leadership Training Youth Volunteer Program is an education program and volunteer opportunity, for student’s grade 7 – grade 12. Students who show a strong interest in teaching healthy living, natural resources, and farm and Ag sciences are encouraged to apply. These youth will be paired with Cooperative Extension Professionals and/or Volunteers and mentored to teach 20 minute to 1 hour presentations to elementary school age youth. Through participation students will gain work experience, learn to communicate more effectively with others, and increase their awareness of healthy living, the environment, and/or farm and Ag practices.

After reading qualifications, training schedule, and brochure (attached); complete the application process, by filling out the 4-H TiLT youth volunteer application, 4-H enrollment form, medical release and code of conduct (attached). A teacher recommendation form should be given to a teacher of the youth’s choice all forms should be mailed to Angie Lawrence, PO Box 109, Bolivia NC 28422 OR dropped off at the Brunswick County Cooperative Extension, 25 Referendum Drive Brunswick County 4-H office.

The first training for NEW TiLT youth volunteers will be held Monday, February 29th. At this time we ask for a $70 fee that covers retreat, and t-shirt for the 2016 year.
