Documentary Series – Local Food Systems and Farming

The Brunswick County Local Foods Policy Council and Brunswick County Cooperative Extension are hosting a year-long documentary series starting on January 8th, 2016. Bring your family and friends and join us at the BCC Leland Campus at 6:30 p.m. for a showing of “Farmland”, a documentary highlighting six young farmers taking over the family farm or starting a new farm and the challenges they face in the process. Following the documentary will be a discussion panel made up of four local farmers who will answer questions and share about their own personal experiences in Brunswick County.

Following the January film, another documentary will be shown every other month on the following dates:  March 11, May 13, July 8, September 9, and November 11. All of the films will be shown at the BCC Leland Campus at 6:30 p.m.

Documentary series 2016 The goal of the documentary series is to teach the community about issues surrounding the food system and how we can be a part of improving the system.
